“Formula Renault Alps reveal 2015 schedule”

Fast Lane Promotions revealed the 2015 Formula Renault 2.0 Alps calendar, as well as some modifications to their race weekend format.

The feeder to the Formula Renault Eurocup will kick off its seven-round championship at Imola during the second weekend in April, before moving to Pau one month later as a support to the FIA European Championship.

There follows a brief turnaround as the series go to the Red Bull Ring toward the end of May and then Spa-Francorchamps in the first weekend of June, before a gap of one month leading to the fifth round at Monza.
After the Monza round, the series goes quiet for two months, eventually reconvening at Mugello in early September; however a seventh date – set for October – has yet to be confirmed.

There are some alterations to the race weekends. Drivers will enjoy two one hour practice sessions and two fifteen-minute qualifying sessions throughout the season.
However rounds at the Red Bull Ring, Monza and Mugello will consist of three twenty-five minute (plus one lap) races, while the remaining four rounds will be contested over two twenty-five minute (plus one lap) races.
