Jack Harvey claimed both poles for the eighth round of the Cooper Tyres British Formula 3 Series at Snetterton.

When considering his lap, Harvey noted a clean balance as his inspiration for the double pole, although it was a close run thing.

The 19-year-old set a quickest tour of 1:41.170 during his second run, edging out Carlin teammate Carlos Sainz Jr by a mere 0.011 seconds. Indeed, the top four all pulled incredibly close times, with only 0.129 seconds covering the quartet.

Fortec duo Alex Lynn and Felix Serralles coveted the second row, with the former taking the optimum racing line for tomorrow’s feature race.
Carlin secured the third row as Harry Tincknell headed his Malaysian stablemate Jazeman Jaafar by a four-hundredths.

From there, the gaps extended notably. Pipo Derani (Fortec, 7th) ended the session three-tenths adrift of Jaafar, with Carlin’s Pietro Fantin an additional two-tenths in arrears.
Hannes van Asseldonk endured a difficult session to come 9th, while Geoff Uhrhane drove his Double R entry to a credible 10th place. Fahmi Ilyas (Double R) placed his Mercedes powered Dallara one tenth up on the ThreeBond Nissan of Nick McBride.

Adderly Fong took the National Class pole in his third weekend back in the series; however the CF Racing driver topped category new boy Pedro Pablo Calbimonte (T-Sport) by only 0.003 seconds.
Duvashen Padayachee beat class title rival Spike Goddard to 15th on the grid.

Harvey will lead the grid for the weekend’s opening event, this time ahead of championship leader Serralles. Lynn and Jaafar secured 3rd and 4th respectively, while Sainz Jr drops to 5th ahead of Tincknell.
