Qualifying for the European Formula 3 Championship at the Norisring has been postponed until tomorrow, due to deteriorating track surface conditions.
The circuit, which has been under relatively heavy use throughout today, began to break up during the afternoon.
However circuit difficulties became most apparent during free practice for the Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup.
Two late accidents in the session highlighted the problems drivers faced, as the road crumbled in the searing 35°C heat. Track temperature, meanwhile, climbed as high as 47°C at certain points.
Formula 3 qualifying will now take place at 8.10am (CET), with the opening race still scheduled to run at 11.50am (CET).
