Flavio Briatore’s Ban Overturned

It would appear that the lifetime FIA-motorsports ban of former-Renault boss, Flavio Briatore, has been overturned. His ban was initiated following Nelson Piquet Jr’s deliberate crash during the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix, which led to team leader Fernando Alonso jumping from 15th place to 1st position when the safety car emerged – from there, Alonso went on to win the race.  Briatore also managed many current Formula 1 drivers, as well as a number of young pilots and was also ordered to cease all managerial activities.
The Italian argued at a tribunal in Paris that the ban was excessive and that then FIA president Max Mosley was unduly biased against Briatore. At the original trial in November of 2009 in front of the World Motorsports Council, Briatore refused to defend himself and was found guilty of cheating.
There will be many quotes and thoughts from various folk throughout the day.
